Change Out The Water In Your Pool Every Two Years
At Clark County Pool & Lawn, we highly recommend changing out your pool water at least every two years (maybe sooner if you have a salt system)! Due to our extremely high Calcium Hardness (CH) levels in Las Vegas and high Cyanuric Acid (CYA) levels that our pools have, you should change out your pool water often. High calcium and magnesium levels are one of the main reasons why residential swimming pool owners should replace their water every two years. Specifically, in the Las Vegas area, we deal with higher levels of calcium in our tap water and it can cause major damages to your swimming pools interior finish, your filtration equipment, and your salt chlorinator as well! At Clark County Pool & Lawn, we offer an alternative to a typical drain and refill because draining a swimming pool can cause any one of the following:
- Cracking the interior finish
- The pool could float (more common in Central and Eastern United States)
- The walls could collapse
- It is a huge waste of water that can be saved using our RO mobile filtration process
Since we are located in the Southwest United States, we are extremely concerned with the water but if you have the opportunity to save the water by recycling it instead, all of the above risks go down substantially. With our Reverse Osmosis (RO) Mobile Filtration the water level in the swimming pool never changes and the end product is much better than tap water. The process will lower CH, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), salts, CYA, and so much more! Not to mention, we can conserve up to 85% of the existing water in the swimming pool too!
Just last week, we were called out to an 8,000-gallon swimming pool in Las Vegas, Nevada because the scaling on their spillway was extremely noticeable and their CYA was more than double was is recommended on the highest level.
Initial Chemistry
Calcium Hardness – 760ppm
Total Dissolved Solids – 3000ppm
Cyanuric Acid – 200ppm
After filtering this swimming pool for 6 hours we were able to lower the above issues to the following:
Ending Chemistry
Calcium Hardness – 130ppm
Total Dissolved Solids – 444ppm
Cyanuric Acid – 20ppm
Using our service is a much better option than a drain a refill because we will leave you with better water than tap. Not only will you conserve water but it can and will prolong the lifespan of your swimming pool too.
