Hiring A Weekly Service Company In Las Vegas
Have you noticed the temperatures are warming up in the Las Vegas area? Is your swimming pool ready for it? The easiest answer to that is to hire a weekly service and maintenance company, which we will discuss in this blog post but we also want to share some other things you can do to keep your swimming pool clean and ready to swim in at all times. Depending on the size of your swimming pool, chemistry can be a challenge especially when it gets warm. So, we want to make sure you’re equipped with a variety of different steps that you will need to be aware of whether or not you have a weekly pool service. First and foremost, the following information is vital to making sure your chemistry is where it needs to be during the winter and summer months:
Chlorine – 1 – 3 ppm (winter) and 3 – 5 ppm (summer and should start now)
pH – 7.4 – 7.8
Cyanuric Acid (CYA) – 30 – 50 ppm
Filter Run Time – this will vary depending on the size of the pool but run times will always be longer in the summertime.
Adequate amounts of chlorine are always vital to make sure you prevent algae growth and so is your filter run time. A swimming pool with too little chlorine or short filter run times will develop algae, especially if the water is warm. Keys to this will be cloudy water and or algae growth around the skimmer and walls of the swimming pool. Managing your pH is also key because a high pH can cause calcium deposits, otherwise known as scale, which forms a build up on the pool equipment, plumbing, and on the pool walls and tiles. Also, chlorine becomes less effective. Whereas, with a low pH the swimming pool water becomes corrosive and will dissolve any metal pool equipment it comes in contact with. The acidic water can also dissolve the pool surface making it rougher and causing even more long-term problems.
Along with chemistry, brushing the tile line, the interior finish of the swimming pool and netting any debris is also extremely important to do on a regular basis even if you have a weekly pool service especially after a storm. If and when that happens, keep on eye on the skimmer basket to make sure it’s free of all debris to keep adequate flow into your pool filter. If the flow is restricted, this could cause a burn out of your pool motor due to lack of water.
