Taking Care of A Swimming Take Dedicated Work

When it comes to owning a swimming pool there seem to be cycles of enjoyment. The first cycle is its summer, it’s swim season which is the best because of all that is included in swim season but that also means more work in keeping it clean and balanced. On the other hand, there is the offseason which means it’s a bummer because you can’t use the pool but it’s great because it’s easier to take care of it. Which one do you fall into? Do you love the swim season and more work or the offseason and less work? Well, honestly, there really isn’t an “off-season” for a swimming pool because weekly service should be performed all the time.

Weekly Pool Service in Las Vegas

No matter what time of year it is, weekly pool service should be performed on both residential and commercial swimming. This is something that Clark County Pool & Lawn has a lot of experience with and we want to share that with you. As a pool owner, one of the most important steps to keeping your pool clean 365 days a year is by brushing it! Yes, we said brushing it which means brushing the steps, benches, and interior finish. This prevents dirt from staining your interior finish and algae from forming on the interior finish. Please keep in mind to prevent algae from forming you will need to do more than brushing but this is a step that gets overlooked when taking care of a swimming pool. In addition to brushing the entire pool, you must also net out all debris as this can affect your water chemistry, and empty out the pump and skimmer basket to allow for adequate water flow into the filter. In addition, you will also want to balance your water chemistry on a weekly basis to make sure you have adequate amounts of chlorine, that your pH is balanced along with your Total Alkalinity (TA), Cyanuric Acid (CYA), and Calcium Hardness.

Have we stressed brushing? Just in case we didn’t, don’t forget to brush and balance your water chemistry. In addition to this, you will also want to make sure your filter is clean and or backwashed depending on what type you have and that you are filtering for adequate amounts of time each day. Depending on the time of year, you will be filtering longer during the summer than in the winter. One other hint, your chlorine usage, and water balancing chemical usage will be increased in the summertime due to usage and the fact that algae love warmer water.
