Lowering Calcium Hardness in Swimming Pools

Reverse Osmosis (RO) filtration on your swimming pool is now possible. Clark County Pool & Lawn’s RO filtration treatment systems combine pretreatment vessels and RO systems in a single, self-contained trailer.

Why hassle with pumping the water from your pool, paying for the refill, and then trying to figure out the complicated chemicals needed to rebalance your pool water?  Clark County Pool & Lawn can take care of it for you. In less than a day, we can filter your water and lower Calcium Hardness, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Cyanuric Acid (CYA), phosphates, salt, bacteria, viruses, etc. and provide you with a clean, fresh pool!

Let’s face it, in Las Vegas, our water is extremely hard. Our pool water loaded with calcium, magnesium, and other hardness minerals. Our water is honestly one of the hardest in the country and it can be extremely challenging to manage your residential and commercial swimming pool when you Calcium Hardness and TDS levels get high. With that said, eventually, you will need to change the water, but now you do not have to change the water with a drain and refill. Instead, you can recycle your pool water! Recycling swimming pool water is just the start.  RO can lower Calcium Hardness, TDS, CYA, and other contaminants. In addition, the insulated trailer has allowed us to use these mobile filtration trailers day and night to get the job done. The concept of mobile filtration has been around for a long time, but using it to purify swimming pool water is relatively new. It is the best alternative to a drain and refill, never exposes the interior finish, and we can typically complete a residential swimming pool in less than a day.

Just this past week we recycled a residential swimming pool that we dealing with high levels of Calcium Hardness and TDS. The following was the initial and ending water chemistry:

Calcium Hardness – 1180 parts per million (ppm)

Total Dissolved Solids – 8112 ppm

CYA –  60 ppm

After filtering this swimming pool with RO filtration we were able to lower the above to the following:

Calcium Hardness – 150 ppm

Total Dissolved Solids – 1112 ppm

CYA – 0 ppm
